What's New?

 Ho-Hum...what to post today.

I was going to post a picture of a plate of egg rolls but I have other things to talk about so no pictures. However, about egg rolls...I have never tried one because they never appealed to me by looking at them. Until last evening when we had our weekly Chinese take-out night for supper. I ordered my favorite Buddhist's Delight, a huge plate of rice, broccoli, carrots, tofu and a couple of things I take out immediately, like pea pods and mushrooms. Pea pods can make me choke...the string on the top...and the mushrooms seem slimy or cold.....I have enough to eat so also along with the bok choy, I slide them into my side bowl kept for those items and uneaten broccoli stems. When I opened the bag I found 2 egg rolls instead of the one my husband gets with his meals. I put it aside until I thought about it just sitting alone in the kitchen, so I got it and decided to try it. Well, I became a new person! I found something I didn't ever want anything to do with to loving it so much that I can't wait to order another with my next Chinese take-out order! It was nice and crispy and had a nice sweetness to it with just the right amount of grease!  I ate the whole thing - it enhanced my already enjoyable meal and ate for over an hour!!! (actually, I wasn't even full) The moral of this story...you're never too old to try something new, and "try it...you might like it." And I did!!!

Oh, I shed some tears this morning hearing the latest about what's happening in Ukraine. I just have one thing to say. The world would be a much safer place minus 2 people. That's all. Just 2 people. Why go through all of this pain and suffering, thousands of killings and a possible nuclear war when there is a much safer and easier solution? Think about it.

I'll close for now...I'm depressed watching the news so I can't add anything new...I was going to add that it never ceases to amaze me watching the jays come from every direction to the deck table for breakfast every morning as they did again this morning. What a show! Screaming as they make their swooping decent for their 1 or 2 chances to grab a peanut! But I'll save that for another day.
