Our American Holiday that consists of (for our tradition) is the following:
Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade at 9 am.
Big turkey dinner at noon, but I don't eat meat, so...
National Dog Show at noon.
First football game at 1 pm. (keep remote handy)
Second football game at 4:30 pm.
A light supper.
"Love Actually" movie at 8 pm.
A great Thanksgiving has begun.
A grateful thank you to all who visit my blog, too!

My First Ukulele

I needed something new in my life so I decided to learn to play a new instrument - I have a like for Hawaiian culture so after seeing many beautiful and colorful ukuleles I chose this "rainbow" design and love it! Now I just have to learn how to tune it and let the playing begin!  :)
It's a "Balnna" ukulele - love it!!
To be continued...I'm waiting for the other new instrument I ordered.
A Glockenspiel!!!  :)

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas

It's a nice rainy cozy Sunday, so before football started for the day I decided to decorate for Christmas!
My Jim Shore Santa for the coffee table is hiding. He may be busy making toys - I'll find him somewhere.

Squirrel is eating seeds on the deck table like a little vacuum cleaner!!  :)
All is well and normal at my house.  :)

The Pumpkin Saga - Final Chapter

Enough Is Enough!
Today was Moving Day for the critter's food/houses!  Someone attacked the big pumpkin on the sidewalk and just making a mess - I can't look at the sidewalk this way anymore.
The 3 big ones were moved behind the back yard fence.  They are in plain sight and can be found easily - the critters are back there under the pines all the time.  The small pumpkins are inside the small fence where squirrels can squeeze in there and have at it!!  :)

And now my sidewalk is clean again and ready for shoveling whenever it decides to snow!
I will now have to find another subject to photograph and write about.
THE END

Pumpkin Carving Saga - Day 2

I was looking out the living room window to see what I could see regarding the pumpkins and noticed shavings in front of a big pumpkin in front of one of the two gargoyle benches! I went out with my camera not knowing what I would find, and here it is. :)  My golf cart can be seen through the bushes parked in front of the sidewalk where yesterday's pumpkin carving still stands unchanged. :)
A much smaller round hole makes me think that the chipmunk who lives here did this handy work!
It's the perfect size for him to fit and gain access inside!  :)
Each day will be an adventure, I guess for me as well as the one doing the work and eating his finds!  :)  The gargoyle below is named, "Ludwig."
I have to add that having this new phone with a camera that takes a good quality picture is so much fun and am so happy to have it to post pictures on my blog and on FB.  Love the instant sharing it allows!  Happy Sunday!!

Pumpkin Carving By Resident Squirrel

So, one or more of the squirrels who eat seeds and nuts on the deck table every day finally had an appetite for pumpkin today!  A bit late for pumpkin carving for Halloween, but amusing to say the least! :)  It was a squirrel because he was seen with his head inside the pumpkin!  Gotcha!  :)
The eyes are perfect!!  :)  The birds will also be happy to eat the seeds, not to mention there are several and larger pumpkins in the yard, so they have their veggies for some time to come...maybe to next Thursday which is Thanksgiving Day when pumpkins are the veggie of the day to eat and used for decoration.  I will take a wild guess that there will be more pictures to come as long as the carver continues to carve!  :)

nelson - just once more - ricky nelson remembered - cape girardeau, MO. ...

I should be seeing their show today but I gave my tickets away because the venue isn't for me. I would be very uncomfortable. I feel there will come another time when Matthew & Gunnar Nelson will pass through again and I will have the amazing pleasure of being in their presence and loving their songs. I'll be there in Spirit this afternoon!
